Serving Dental Town Canton
Dr. Elijah (Eli) Stephens was born and raised in North Georgia. While living in the small community of Tate, he attended Pickens High School playing football, basketball, and tennis. After graduating from high school he volunteered to serve a two-year church mission helping the people of Chile. Upon returning from Chile, he attended Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Business and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Management with an emphasis in General Business. While at BYU he served as the BYU Pre-Dental President and earned the Army’s Health Professions Scholarship. It was also during this time that Dr. Stephens met his wife, Ashley.
Dr. Stephens continued to further his education by attending Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, AZ. In addition to earning his doctorate, Dr. Stephens graduated from dental school as the honored recipient of the American Academy of Gold Foil Operators’ Achievement Award. He then reported to Fort Stewart, GA for active duty service with the US Army. While stationed at Fort Stewart he volunteered to assist in the Army’s humanitarian mission in Honduras and was selected to provide dental care to the impoverished children of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. When Dr. Stephens returned to Fort Stewart, he elected to attend the Army’s Air Assault School. Following his graduation from Air Assault School, he deployed to support Operation Anakonda in Poland, Germany, and Bulgaria for 4 months as the Brigade Dental Surgeon for the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division. While in Europe he performed dental procedures on US soldiers, civilians, and multinational forces in austere and challenging environments. Dr. Stephens remained stationed at Fort Stewart until 2017 when he was assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State. He surpassed his military obligation and was promoted to the rank of Major. Despite Dr. Stephens’ exceptional experience with the military, he decided with his family to return home to Georgia, where they hope to settle down permanently.
Dr. Stephens enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 sons. When he isn’t working, he can most likely be found playing ball or wrestling with his boys. He also enjoys fishing, camping, hiking, and sports. He is a passionate Georgia Bulldogs fan. GO DAWGS!!
